East Coast - Day 9

Our day in Philadelphia started out with a thunderstorms then cleared for a day of touring.  The tour bus was a great way to see and learn about the great historic city of brotherly love.  Besides Ben Franklin, many talented and life contributing people have come from Philly ... John Coltrain and Billie Holiday, Tina Fey and Bill Cosby, M. Night Shamelyan(sp.?), Will Smith, architects, artists, statesmen and even a guy named Chris Prickett - he's pretty cool too.

One thing I really appreciated was the some 3,000 murals in which the city took a problem and offered a creative solution.

We decided that Philadelphia was a great city to be from.  We are glad to be headed to the valley of the sun and look forward to our own beds!

Hope you've enjoyed a window into our trip.

East Coast Trip 09 (Two Minutes to Philly)

THIS WAS TO POST YESTERDAY ...

We took one last trip into NYC. Really liked Central Park. Amtrak to Philly and ate dinner at a local joint called Race Street Cafe. Physically tough day traveling (lots of walking to and from subways/PATH/Trollys with luggage!)

We are all pretty tired but looking forward to seeing Philadelphia tomorrow.

I decided to take a break from lots of pics today and let video tell the story (or at least part of it I could shoot!) HT: John Mayer for the video idea ...

East Coast - Day 7 (pics)

OK ... I had a few pics I wanted to show.  We saw a cool dog outside Starbucks.  Note to self:  Spend more time in Central Park.  We had one last tour of FAO then on to Philly (see video).

East Coast - Day 6

So far we've had a pretty great trip despite misplacing a wallet (before leaving Phoenix) and leaving blankies in Virginia (my bad!).

Today was beautiful by any standards (mid-80's) as we took a boat ride, went to a swap meet on sixth avenue & ran into Drew Barrymore (sorry no pic for proof but why would I make that up?), toured 30 Rock (SNL and Sunday Night Football Studios were cool), and ate at Carnegie Deli.

East Coast - Day 5

The day started by uploading photos from day 3 & 4.  We got a later start into the city.  Enjoyed a great lunch at John's Pizza and got to tour the city with Aunt Kate, Daley, and Julie.  FAO Schwarts and St. Patrick's Cathedral were a couple of highlights. The day ended with a BBQ at Drew and Kates.
